The Sausage Dog Social Club is a private, in-home boarding and daycare experience designed exclusively for dachshunds. With a limited number of members at any time, we provide personalized care in a calm, thoughtfully designed environment where long dogs can relax, socialize, and feel at home.

Why Sausage Dog Social Club?
Dachshunds have unique physical needs that aren’t always considered in traditional boarding environments. Their long backs and short legs make them especially prone to spinal and IVDD-related injuries, which is why thoughtful handling and environmental design matter so much. At Sausage Dog Social Club, our space is intentionally designed with dachshunds in mind—from the use of ramps and low-impact furniture to carefully supervised play and a calm, small-group environment that minimizes unnecessary jumping and rough activity. Rather than a high-volume facility, we focus on personalized care, safe movement, and a comfortable home-like atmosphere created specifically for long dogs.
At Sausage Dog Social Club, safety is never an afterthought. In addition to our IVDD-aware environment and specialized dachshund care, we have completed Cat & Dog First Aid training through the American Red Cross, including pet CPR certification. From supervised play to emergency preparedness, every detail is designed to give dachshund parents peace of mind while their dogs are in our care.

PERSONALIZED CARE FOR LONG DOGS
We host fewer than ten dogs at a time to ensure a quiet, personalized environment. No overcrowding. No chaos. Just thoughtful, attentive care.
From full and half-day stays to overnight boarding and personalized care—including medication, bathing, and nail trims—everything we offer is designed to keep your dachshund comfortable, safe, and well cared for.

Before joining us for daycare or boarding, every new member enjoys a half-day Interview Day at the Club. This gives your dachshund time to explore the space, get comfortable with our routines, and meet us at their own pace. It also allows us to get to know their personality, needs, and preferences so we can provide the most personalized care possible.

Boarding Requirements
To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all members, we require the following prior to each stay:
Vaccinations
All dogs must be current on:

DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza)

Rabies
Vaccinations must be administered by a licensed veterinarian, and documentation is required. We are unable to accept at-home vaccinations or titer tests as proof.
Medications
We are happy to administer most medications (excluding injections).
Please complete a medication instruction form prior to your dog’s stay.
Food & Personal Items
All food should be provided in a sealed container, and personal items should be clearly labeled with your dog’s name.
You’re welcome to send comfort items from home; however, while we take care to keep belongings in good condition, we cannot guarantee their return in original condition.
Unaltered & Female Dogs
We are unable to accommodate dogs who are pregnant or in heat.
Additional considerations or fees may apply for unaltered dogs.

Please allow 5–10 minutes at drop-off to review your dog’s routine and needs.

Bathing
Bathing includes a gentle shampoo, brush, and blow dry, along with a complimentary ear cleaning. Additional services are available upon request. We use a thoughtfully selected range of shampoos to suit each dog’s individual needs, including those with sensitive or dry skin.

About Us
Founded by Ace and Krystal in New Orleans, Louisiana, Sausage Dog Social Club is an intentionally small, in-home boarding and daycare experience built around comfort, safety, thoughtful routines, and personalized care for dachshunds.
At the heart of the club is Oliver, our resident “concierge,” professional greeter, and expert lounger. His gentle personality and love for other dogs helped inspire the calm, home-like environment we hope every guest feels the moment they walk through the door.
Our approach to specialized dachshund care is also deeply personal. Our beloved Roux passed away from complications related to IVDD, an experience that profoundly shaped our understanding of the unique physical vulnerabilities dachshunds face. Through that loss, we became passionate about IVDD-awareness, safer environments, and the importance of thoughtful handling and low-impact spaces for long dogs.
Every detail of Sausage Dog Social Club—from ramps and supervised play to our small guest list and quiet environment—has been intentionally designed with dachshunds in mind.
